Chheda Nagar registered a narrow win against Veniza Vihar
On 29th October, 2015 Chheda Nagar registered a narrow 1-0 win against Veniza Virar in the 1st Division of Mumbai Football Association (MDFA) at St Xavier’s Ground, Parel.
Gaurav Adhikar’s looping header from Arijit Deb’s corner on 10th minute were enough for Chheda Nagar to grab all three points.
Despite creating and attempting more than their opponents, Veniza Vihar still didn’t managed to find the net as their poor composure and finishing in front of the goal led to a narrow loss.
Midway into the first half, Veniza Vihar’s Dhiraj Meher danced his way through three defenders inside the box but his initial effort was blocked Aditya Thakkar.
Siddharth Vernekar and Chetan Singh were the only positives from Veniza Vihar as both the players played their roles perfectly.
Siddharth’s overlapping runs from the flanks were creating havoc in Chheda Nagar’s half earlier in the first-half and couple of times in second-half.
Although it was Chheda Nagar, who capitalized on their chances clinically than Veniza Vihar. Arijit Deb’s brilliant corner on the 10th minute was headed in by Gaurav Adhikar, which made it 1-0 for Chheda Nagar and futher proved to be the only goal of the match.
On the stroke of half-time, Arijit Deb’s stunning free kick from distance managed to went in but unfortunately two of Chheda Nagar’s players were caught offside by the linesman.
In the second-half, Veniza Vihar almost scored an equalizer when Dhiraj Meher was set on goal, with only goalkeeper to beat Dhiraj’s shot went just wide off the right post.
Chheda Nagar defended well in the dying minutes to registered a narrow win against a unlucky Veniza Vihar’s side.
