Canossa HS prove too strong for Holy Name HS

The Duo of Cyneka D’sa and Akansha Akre strike again to lead Canossa High School (Mahim) for a 2-0 win over Holy Name High School (‘Colaba’) in the MSSA Girls U-16 tournament held on 4th September.

It was a slow first half for both Canossa High School (Mahim) and Holy Name High School as both the teams were looking for an early goal.

The first half ended goalless though Holy Name High School had plenty of Chances in the first half to strike as the Canossa defenders easily lost ball possession.

Canossa team came stronger in the second half with a 27th minute goal scored by striker Akanksha Akre. Akanksha managed to get past the Holy Name High School defenders and volleyed the ball in the top right corner of the post.

Akanksha’s teammate, Cyneka D’sa was not behind as she also managed to score the second goal for her team in the 42nd minute of the game to deny Holy Name High School a victory as the final whistle blew.

Canossa High School Coach, Raphael Vaz was happy with both the strikers, Akanksha Akre and Cyneka D’sa as even in the previous game against R.N. Podar Akanksha and Cyneka had scored a goal each along with Anushka Fernandes for a 3-0 win.
