Brainy World drub Konnark FC; Hirrai Suns shoot down Yash Warriors

Brainy World moved to the top of the Colaba Super League with an emphatic 4-1 win over Konnark F.C in the Round 2 of the Colaba Super League held at the Back Garden Ground in Colaba on Friday morning.

After a goalless first half, the game came to life in the second half when Bhavik Tandel put Brainy World in the lead in the 34th minute.

But Brainy World’s lead was soon wiped out when Hassan Rizvi struck for Konnark F.C in the 42nd minute to even the scores at 1-1.

Despite being pegged back, Brainy World showed plenty of skill and determination in digging deep in search of the decisive goal.

Hemant Meher was to be the man for Brainy World as he fired them in front once again in the 46th minute. But this time there were no further hick ups for Brainy World as Hemant Meher struck again just four minutes from time to make it 3-1 in their favour and made the game safe.

With the points in the bag and the pressure very much off, Brainy World added another one to make it a resounding success when Charles Fernandes found the net in the first minute of added time as Brainy World remained top of the CSL charts after a crushing win.

Later in the day, Hirrai Suns beat Yash Warriors 3-1 on penalties after the game was locked at 1-1 after a dramatic sixty minutes of play.

It looked like Hirrai Suns were on course for a narrow win when Prakash Khatti broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute to put Hirrai Suns in front, but Tejas Rawat ensured the game was to be decided on penalties when he scored for Yash Warriors with seconds left on the clock.

But Hirrai Suns did eventually prevail over Yash Warriors with Sudarhsan Kamat, Aftab Khan and Valentine Pereira scoring for the Hirrai Suns as Prathamesh Kasare was the only one to beat the Hirrai goalkeeper which meant Hirrai Suns bagged the extra point as yash Warriors had to settle for one point.
