10-men Mumbai Customs overcomes KSA

10-men Mumbai Customs got the better of Karnataka Sports Association (KSA) on Sunday evening after a dramatic 3-1 win in the 109th Edition of RCF Nadkarni Football Cup Tournament to book their place in the Quarters at Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers (RCF) Sports Complex.

Arihi Uchena’s fine strike put Karnataka Sports Association (KSA) infront but Mumbai Customs made an impressive comeback with goals from Hekmat Singh and brace from Akshay Saptoji sinked KSA.

Karnataka Sports Association (KSA) had a fine start, striker Arihi Uchena’s right footed low drive nestled into the left bottom corner to give them a comfortable lead.

It didn’t took much time for Mumbai Customs to get the equalizer. Hekmat Singh’s looping header found the net on 24th minute to make the score even.

Four minutes later, Mumbai Customs scored again to take the lead for the first time in the match. Akshay Sapotji capitalized on Karnataka Sports Association’s (KSA) poor defense to go ahead in the match with more than an hour left on the clock.

In the second-half, Mumbai Customs went down to 10 men. Gilroy Arahana was shown his second yellow card for simulating with the Referee. Eventhough with 10 men, Mumbai Customs somehow held Karnataka Sports Association (KSA).

With only a minute left in the injury time, Akshay Sapotji tapped in from Rinaldo Fernandes’s cross to seal the match for Mumbai Customs.

Mumbai Customs will either face Indian Navy or Central Bank Of India (CBI) in the Quarters.
