St. joseph (Vikroli) Won the football tournament organized by the St. joseph football club

It was the St. joseph football club took the initiative to organize a football event in Vikroli. The football tournament was organized on 6th and 7th of March 2010 at Vikroli. Total 16 teams participated. It was a challenge for the organizers to complete in 2 days. Indeed, tournament was managed very well.

It was 6 a side Rink football knock-out based tournament. Each team limited with 6 players and three rolling substitutes.

The tournament is the great success for the St. Joseph football club, the referees Mr. Sheldon Pereira and Mr. Agnelo have outstanding ability to control the game. They made fully justice to all the teams with their perfect decision

Though it was a 6 a side rink football tournament with the limitation of time i.e.10 minutes each half, but the efforts was remarkable by all the teams. It was a St. Joseph (Vikroli) who come up with all the tactics and planning for the game lift the winner’s trophy and cash price of Rs.10, 000.

On the other hand Hillside Boys made a good impact on every one and they manage to took a Runner’s up trophy with cash price of Rs. 6,000

Mr. Clifton Colaso from St. Joseph (Vikroli) shown the robust performance through-out  the tournament and manage to bag the player of the tournament award.

Under the bar it was Mr. Edelbert Fernandes, who didn’t allow opponents to score, He made many goal line save for his team. His effort and dedication in  all matches made him a goalkeeper of the tournament

Mr. Bosco Fernandes and Robert D’souza were the chief guest for this beautiful football event. We would like to thanks both of them for making this event successful. Both of them are well known personalities in Vikhroli.

There were 16 teams who participated in this tournament. Without them it would have been very difficult to conduct this  beautiful football event.
