Mumbai Football attracts FCV International Football Academy

Known for developing young footballers all over the world, FCV International football Academy will now be starting an Academy in Mumbai
Associating themselves with one of the best in Mumbai, SRS Sporting – known to have curriculums on par with International standards, FCV International Football Academy will now set a new base in Mumbai offering academic football courses for aspiring footballers of the city.
The Academy will focus on developing the talents of Indian players, from Under-12s to Under-21s, through an established coaching curriculum that utilizes best international practices. Initially, to be based in Santacruz, the coaching programme will operate six days a week, catering for the needs of both Development and Performance squads. Once established, plans of setting shop across the region will be delivered. Top talent will be identified and shown a path to progression in India, and in the UK, through their elite football training programme.
FCV Academy also aims to be working to develop local coaches with some of the experienced and highly-qualified UEFA A (or equivalent) coaches being based at the Academy.

To be launched by the end of this month, FCV Academy has appointed Tony Walmsley as the head coach of their new venture in India. Walmsey holds an AFC Pro-Diploma and has worked as the technical director and head coach of Hyundai A-League outfit, Central Coast Mariners.
The Academy is opening for assessment trials on Thursday 28th September 2017, and Walmsley will be joined for the four-day Big Kick-Off by another experienced coach — UEFA A licence holder and current Crystal Palace scout, Ian Sampson, who is FCV’s international development coach. Former player having represented Northampton FC for a record 449 appearance, which is the second highest for the club, Sampson also has managerial experience with his club before he joined FCV Academy.
The FCV Academy’s foreign contingent will be joined by SRS head of football Firmin D’souza, who has more than 10 years of experience in India and England, alongside former defender and current assistant coach Sudheesh Muttath
