MDFA 3rd Division: Renaissance continue their dominance with 6-0 win

IFC, BPCL, Salsette pick close wins while Renaissance hammer six past a hapless Shree Mavli Mandal to four wins in a row in third division fixture of MDFA

RenaissanceIn the first third division game of the day, Mumbai Warriors lost out to Indian Football Club courtesy a Jaimeen Talhmankar’s 3rd goal. The win lifts IFC to 6th position in the 8 team group G table with four points while Mumbai warriors stay at the bottom after the fourth successive loss.

Game 1: Mumbai Warriors(B) 0 – 1 Indian Football Club (Jaimeen Talhmankar 3’)

In the second game South Mumbai faced BPCL SC for a group A fixture. A win would have put South Mumbai at the top of the Group A table with 11 points however Bhaumik’s 18th strike put BPCL in to the lead as the game ended with the Solitary goal giving BPCL their first win of campaign while South Mumbai suffered their first loss.

Game 2: South Mumbai FC 0 – 1 BPCL SC (Bhaumik 18’)

In a group D fixture, Ummat–A-Milan faced off against Salsette FC (B) with latter emerging victorius that took them to the top of the group table. Harsh Madan and Ritvik Salian’s were on mark for Salsette FC (B) while Huzaifah Shaikh managed to score just one for Ummat-A-Milan FC as the game ended at 2-1 score.

Game 3: Ummat-A-Milan FA (Huzaifah Shaikh) 1 – 2 Salsette FC (B) (Harsh Madan, Ritvik Salian)

The fourth game of the day ended in a goal less draw as neither Veer Engineering nor Juhu Beach United managed to break the deadlock. The draw keeps both sides still confined to the lower end of the group A table.

Game 4: Veer Engineering 0 – 0 Juhu Beach United

In the final 3rd division match for the day, Renaissance continued their dominance of group C with a 6-0 win over Shree Mavli Mandal that made it 4 wins in a row for the group leaders. Lordson Soares, Sylester Chunekar and Gibson Rodrigues scored three goals in the space of five minutes in the first half to enter the break with 3-0 lead. Jenson John made it 4-0 mid way through the 2nd half, few minutes later Lordson completed his brace with a 42nd minute strike. The game ended with Akshay Mhatre scoring a last minute goal to finish with a 6-0 score.

Game 5: Shree Mavli Mandal 0 – 6 Renaissance (Loardson Soares 11’, 42’, Sylester Chunekar 12’,Gibson Rodrigues 17’, Jenson John 35’, Akshay Mhatre 50’)
