Matos: “Never talk about individual players, football is a collective game.”

Despite India crashing out of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, the nation is already geared up to see these bunch of players making it big in the future
The current U-17 side displayed a rock-solid performance against the like of the USA and Colombia which garnered huge praise from the fans, media and even the coaches of opponent teams.
Following the match against Ghana in a press conference, Luis de Norton Matos stated that he is proud of his side’s performance and he is happy to be a part of this journey.
“I am proud of player’s behaviour throughout the Tournament. The current generation is perfect and will be instrumental in the future,” Matos stated. Media and Fans both wondered why Komal Thatal didn’t played a single minute against Colombia and Ghana.

On asked about Komal’s exclusion, Matos stated: “Never talk about individual players, football is a collective game.” Matos also stated how other countries are so ahead of India and it is a long process to reach the level where other teams are right now.
“There is a wide gap between us (India) and others. Other teams were already prepared prior to the World Cup. We were the only team to get a direct qualification. Teams like Ghana are confident to win all the duels, they are technical,” Matos added.
About yesterday result against Ghana, Matos said: “After two hard games, this match was a complicated match. I knew we were going to suffer in the third game as our playsrs were finished physically and mentally,” he added.
Along with Matos, midfielder Sanjeev Stalin also interacted with the media. “We have positive things to take away from this World Cup. Our team did a good job. We are young and we have a long way to go,” Sanjeev concluded.
