In the past couple of years, CK Vineeth has grown in to one of the biggest fan favourites among Kerala football fans. His contribution in Indian Super League for Kerala Blasters last year ensured them a passage to final for the second time in three years. After scoring five times for blasters, he turned out with seven goals for I League club Bengaluru FC, where Vineeth had grew into a potent attacking player while becoming a fan favourite too. Vineeth’s brace against Mohun Bagan in the finals of Federation cup this year ensured blues didn’t end the year without a trophy and AFC spot.

The award was given by Kerala State Youth Commission at a prestigious ceremony held in the state’s capital Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday. The Kannur born striker was chosen as the recipient of the award for his contribution in the field of sports in the state.
