Brazil, England and New Zealand to train at Mumbai Football Arena

MDFA President Aditya Thackeray confirmed that Brazil, England and New Zealand U-17 teams will train and practice at the Mumbai Football Arena from September 26 in preparation for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in October.

He also added that India senior side will practice at the same venue, “Around the same time, the senior Indian team will also be practicing there for the Macau game (2019 Asian Cup qualifier).”

There were reports about world cup teams wanting to play local clubs to practice for the world cup which was confirmed by Aditya Thackeray, who stated, “On September 30, Brazil wants to play against a senior Indian (club) team. Either Navy, Air India or Pune City FC – it will be one of them.”

“Brazil will play against New Zealand in a practice game on 28 September at the Andheri complex with the kick-off scheduled at 5 pm.” He added

At the end, the MDFA president urged all the Indian fans to come out in support for the team, “I am urging all the Indian fans to back the Indian U-17 side in the world Cup wholeheartedly, just like how you support your favourite European club.”
