ONGC wins their fourth straight Elite Division match
12th February 2018, Mumbai: In the last three days, last season’s runner-up ONGC (Oil & Natural Gas Corporation) picked up two wins which were their fourth straight victory of the ongoing MDFA Elite Division campaign. On 9th February, ONGC defeated Kenkre FC while yesterday, ONGC edged past KSA 1-0 at Cooperage Stadium. With these two wins, ONGC has moved to the top of Elite Division table.
9th February – ONGC (Enock Annan and Lalmuanpuia) 2-1 Kenkre FC (Cavin Barretto)
On Friday, ONGC met a struggling Kenkre FC side in the Elite Division encounter at Cooperage Stadium. ONGC headed towards the match on the back of a whopping victory against Mumbai Strikers. ONGC kept their form intact as they marched towards a narrow 2-1 win.
For Kenkre FC, Cavin Barretto scored the lone goal with a wonderful strike past ONGC’s Sheldon Raghwan, whereas, prolific striker Enock Annan and midfield maestro Lalmuanpuia scored one each for ONGC which helped them secure a hard-fought win.
12th February – ONGC (Nitesh Monde) 1-0 KSA
Yesterday, ONGC played high-flying KSA (Karnataka Sports Association) at Cooperage Stadium in hope to leapfrog Air India at the top of Elite Division. ONGC continued their fine run with a yet another 1-0 win over KSA.
In-form Nitesh Monde, who is having an incredible run of games, scored the all-important goal to give ONGC maximum points against a strong KSA side. After this win, ONGC has picked up five wins and a draw in six games, whereas, KSA is sixth in the table with nine points in seven games where they have won twice and drawn thrice.
