In the day’s last match FC Mumbaikars, the group topper in 2nd division group C squared off against Indian Gymkhana. FC Mumbaikars has had a fairly satisfying campaign, going unbeaten in all of the 6 matches played while Indian Gymkhana wanted a win desperately to squeeze themselves out of the mid table crisis.
The first half went by, with both the teams trying to get the deadlock broken. But the defence line of both the teams made sure there was no slip-up in the backline to keep a clean sheet going into the break. Soon after the play resumed in second half, FC Mumbaikars drew the first blood riding on Mohit Vattekat strike after a beautiful assist by Deepak Waghela.

Amithkumar Bhat from deep in the defense tried to penetrate FC Mumbaikar’s defense by providing beautiful crosses to his winger and forwards. One such attempt was headed into the net by Sandeep, only to be ruled offside immediately.
Indian Gymkhana’s rapid attack meant their defence could get exposed for every rare mistakes in the upfront. That’s what happened when a hurried clearance by Ashish Venu found an unmarked Adhitya Swami, the Mumbaikars’ forward, who shot it wide of the target to the relief of Indian Gymkhana supporters.
Just as it seemed Fc Mumbaikars has all but wrapped up the game , Indian Gymkhana got a rare chance from spotkick as Deepak Waghela brought down Suraj Lad, the IG striker in the box. Suraj took the penalty himself and calmly put it into the bottom left corner to gift Indian Gymkhana the crucial equalizer.
