Former united players to play in Indian Super League

Wes Brown and Berbatov played alongside each other under the tutelage of Sir Alex Fegurson winning numerous laurels for Manchester United. The two players are now set to unite again here in India for Kerala Blasters FC under another former united coaching staff Rene Meulensteen
Wes Brown, a 6ft. 1 defender has won five premier league titles alongside two UEFA champions league and two FA Cups. The 37 year old player has huge premier league experiences having played more than 300 games. He last played for Blackburn Rovers in the English 2nd division scoring once in five appearances. Brown has also featured for the national side 23 times scoring once. Former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has once stated that Brown is “without question the best natural defender this club has had for years”

At the other end, Dimitri Berbatov is close to signing for the Blasters too. Berbatov has played in the top leagues for number of sides, most notably his spell at Bayern Leverkusen, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspurs. He is Bulgeria’s highest goal scorer, scoring 48 goals in78 appearances, and winning Bulgerian Footballer of the year a record seven times. The 36 year old striker last played for Greek side PAOK in 2016, where he notched up just 4 goals in 17 games.
Although age is against these players, they are still few of the finest players to grace the Indian Super League, it will be interesting to see how they fare up against Indian sides
