3rd Division: RCF Colony and Amigos register wins
4th December 2017, Mumbai: In the late kick-offs, the 3rd Division of MDFA – Mumbai District Football Association saw two matches at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel on Monday night. The first match was played between FC Mithagar and RCF Colony Boys while the second was played between Amigos Football Club.
FC Mithagar ‘B’ 0-3 RCF Colony Boys – Group M
In what turned out to be a one-sided affair, RCF Colony Boys registered a comprehensive 3-0 victory in the Group M encounter against FC Mithagar ‘B’ to win their fourth match of the 3rd division campaign.
It took RCF just eight minutes to open the scoring when Pratik Dabak scored a sublime goal to break the deadlock. Right from the kick-off, RCF looked a much better and sharp side than their counterpart. Substitute Apoorva Bhagat soon doubled the lead with a poacher goal in the 32nd minute.
Pratik Dabak who had an incredible game doubled his tally and increased RCF Colony Boys’ lead after notching up a fine goal in the 52nd minute which initially wrapped up the game. With this win, RCF Colony Boys has moved to the 3rd spot with four wins in five matches, whereas, FC Mithagar ‘B’ is yet to win their first game of the season.
Amigos Football Club 1-0 Azad Nagar Utsav Samiti – Group E
The second and final match of the day saw Amigos FC facing Azad Nagar in a Group E encounter. Amigos held their nerves to register a narrow and hard-fought 1-0 victory over their opponent to also win their fourth match of the campaign.
After an eventful first-half, it was Goldwin Kunder’s fine goal in the 32nd minute which turned out to be the decisive goal as Amigos cement their place at the third spot in Group E.
