SSE Champions League Day 2: Round-up
The SSE Champions League 2016-17 is currently in the mid-way of the group stages with all the participants from each category played four games until now. Some of the best and close matches had already been played out in the group stage so far which is indeed turning out to be an unpredictable tournament. Let’s take a look at the Groups, Results, and other essential details of the tournament:
Under-8:
In the U-8 category, Footfun FA -Red is leading the group with four wins in four matches, maintaining their hundred percent record so far. Their 4-0 and 5-0 victory over Purple Hand FC and Ronaldo FC respectively has further described the quality of this young side. They are followed by Footfun FA – Blue in the standings who has won three of their four matches with only three points away from Footfun FA – Red.
Ronaldo FC and Beaumonde FC are tied with six points each in four games after producing excellent performance in each of their respective group stage matches. Ronaldo FC and Beaumonde FC has already played each other with Ronaldo FC winning the match 5-1. Bravehearts and Purple Hand FC are fifth and sixth respectively and both the sides are looking forward to cause serious problems to their opponents.
Under-10:
In the U-10 category, the top two teams are same as the ones in the U-8 category. Footfun FA – Red, Footfun FA – Blue, and Mighty Minions are currently in the top three in standings with each of the teams winning all the four matches in a style which proves the talent and determination of their sides. It will be quite interesting to see how these three sides will approach their game when they meet each other further in the tournament.
These three sides are followed by Gareth Bale FC, American School of Bombay – 1, and Beaumonde FC who are tied with six points each in four games. In a close contest on 20th November, Gareth Bale FC emerged as 3-2 winners against Beaumonde FC in a five-goal thriller. Ascend International School and American School of Bombay – 2 seventh and eighth respectively with three points, and Ronaldo FC and Messi FC are at the bottom of the table.
Under-12 League 1:
Footfun FA – Red is having a tremendous tournament so far in each category. They are also leading the U-12 category with four wins in four games and snatching up twelve points in the process. On the last matchday, Footfun FA – Red defeated SSE Cheetah 4-1 and SSE Lions 5-2 to continue their fine form.
Bravehearts and SSE Lions are second and third with eight and seven points respectively. SSE Cheetah and All Stars has won one each in four games who are fourth and fifth just above CCI FC who are at the bottom of the table.
Under-12 League 2:
Of all the groups, the U-12 League 2 seems the most exciting group. Chargers XE are leading the table with three wins in four games who are just above Footfun FA- Blue, Ronaldo FC, SSE Panthers, and Bravehearts FC. Interestingly, all these four sides are tied with points in four games and separated only by goal difference. Things will get more interesting as the group stages will progress further.
