‘Go Green’ Cup – Day 3

The ‘Go Green’ Cup 2016 has gone a level higher than what it achieved last year. With 10 stunning Sundays of the Kenkre Champions League 2016, we completed 3 days of the ‘Go Green’ Cup yesterday. It has only been onwards and upwards since the inaugural day. With 45 matches played on the first two days and close to 150 goals scored already, Day 3 was a level above both the days.

Scottish Avengers had Ishaan Singh to thank who’s goal got them the win against Lions. Fulltime score being Scottish Avengers 1-0 FFA. In another match, FFA 1 beat SFA by 2-0 in which Hanzala Kapadi managed to net both the goals. Don Bosco and Bajrangi Boyz played out a 1-1 draw in an entertaining game on the turf. Malhaar Katkar scored for Don B while Vedant Bamane scored for the Bajrangi Boyz. In another match, FFA B lost 2-0 to Lions. Kalvin Vedamutthu and Raghav Subandh on the scoresheet. Don Bosco was able to get back to winning ways beating Kooh Sports by a single goal. Nathan Paul’s solo goal proved enough for Don B0sco to emerge victorious. The final game on the turf saw St Stanislaus beat Bulls by 1-0. Harshad Vane scored the only goal of the game.

The Red Strikers kicked off the matches on the pitch against The Assasins. It was seventh heaven for the Strikers who beat the Assasins by 7-0. Mark Chauhan starred the match with a hattrick, Vitalian Naidu scored a brace and was well complemented by Vincy Paruav and Zaeeny Dodhiya. Scottish Strikers succumbed to a 2-0 defeat against Bajrangi Boyz. Ryan Lobo scoring both the goals for the Bajrangi Boyz. FFA and Thunderbolts match went down to the wire with Thunderbolts edging FFA 2-1. Mir Mehta scored a brace for the Thunderbolts side. While Akshay Chavrasia’s goal was the only one for FFA. Mumbai Colts were on song registering a 4-0 win over Kooh Sports. Karsten D’Souza grabbed a brace, Harsh Naik and Neel Naik were alos on the score sheet. Day 3 was a day of braces. Meanwhile, Bosco Dragons strolled past  SSE Tigers by 4-0. Aryan Pagare’s brace inspired the Dragons, Harsh Palande score the third whereas there an Own goal from the Tigers making it 4-0. Young dodgers FC were beaten 5-0 by Bandra Stars. Shayne D’Costa’s brace started the scoring, Jaffer Mansoori, Varad Parab and Zubair Karbhari were also on the scoresheet. Jaguars managed to win 2-0 against Christ Church. In form player Joshua Mendes scored along with Raul Almeda and Vedant Pingle. Mumbai  Colts recorded an 8-0 win over FFA. Karsten D’Souza yet again the starrer this time with 5 of the 8 goals. Boris Fernandes, Harsh Naik and Shriharsh Surepalli were also on target. Bosco Dragons won 10-0 againsr Balmohan Under 12 side. Errol Noronha’s hattrick was a man of the match performance. Aryan and Harsh Palande scoring a brace, Gareen Shah, Keith Fernandes and Ninad Kamble all among the scorers.

28  matches and over a 100 goals scored on Day 3 proved by the ‘Go Green’ cup is getting very competitive as we reach the final day. With continued observation from Mr Floyd Pinto and other Kenkre coaches, the kids are performing their best as the scorelines suggest. With final 2 days remaining this tournament only gets bigger and bigger
