IFS League 2.0 – Matchday 1: VNFC and Reunion register impressive wins

It was goals galore on the opening day of the Indian Football School (IFS) League 2.0 as VNFC and Reunion registered hugely impressive wins over Bullseye and Mumbai FC U-17 respectively at the iconic Cooperage stadium in Mumbai on Saturday, 18th July 2015.

In the opening game, VNFC took on Bullseye and the roller coaster of a game ended 7-4 in the favour on VNFC. Steve ran the show for VNFC as he netted four times during the course of the game and proved to be the difference in the end.

Nadeem, Sylla and Libson were the other scorers for VNFC as they overcame a spirited Bullseye side, for whom Junod, Karan scored a goal a piece, adding to a brace from Amogh.

The second game saw Reunion take on Mumbai FC U-17 side. Interestingly, Reunion was led by the Mumbai FC U-17 Head Coach Alex Ambrose. The Reunion side had an array of stars which included Alex himself along with the likes of ex-Indian star Steven Dias and Mumbai FC defender Allen Dias.

The Mumbai FC youngsters showed great spirits as they went down 13-6 at the hands of their much illustrious opponents. But the young guns, coached by the Alex Ambrose who was at the heart of their downfall, scoring a hat-trick.

Allen Dias was also on the score sheet for Reunion as the star studded outfit ran riot against Mumbai FC U-17.

Mumbai FC U-17 will have to pick themselves up quickly as they come up against Cooperage 5 tomorrow at Cooperage.
